Four Killed as U.S. Strikes ‘Narco-Trafficking’ Vessel in Pacific
"Intelligence confirmed that the vessel was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations," SOUTHCOM announced on US social media company X.
The operation unfolded under orders from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and was carried out in international waters by Joint Task Force Southern Spear, according to the command, which indicated the vessel operated under "Designated Terrorist Organizations."
"A total of four male narco-terrorists were killed, and no U.S. military forces were harmed," it added.
The strike represents continued American military engagement against maritime drug trafficking networks operating in Pacific shipping lanes.
